The F Chord

To play the F chord, use the first and second fingers of your left hand as shown in the diagram. Strum only three strings.

The first finger of your left hand plays both notes on the first fret by barring across the two strings. This is a difficult chord to play, and will take much practice. You may find it easier to play this chord by placing your second finger in position first, then placing your first finger across the first and second strings. In the following two songs, make up your own rhythms.
