Right Hand Positions

To make songs easier to play, it is important to have your hands in the correct position so that you can use the best fingering. In the song Michael Finnegan you will be able to reach every note without stretching your finger by using the two positions shown in the following diagrams.

C Position

This position is called the C Position, and covers the notes from Middle C up to G.

F Position

This position is called the F Position, and covers the notes from F up to the C note above Middle C.

Pay special attention to any fingering numbers.
