First And Second Endings

The next tune contains first and second endings. The first time you play through the song, play the first ending ( Z ), then go back to the beginning. The second time you play through the song, play the second ending ( X ) instead of the first.

The Note Low A

The note low A is written on the second ledger line under the staff.

This melody makes frequent use of the note low A. It has a sad sounding tonality known as a minor key.

This example should help you become more familiar with the notes A, B and C in both octaves.
