Progressive Banjo Chords contains all the chord types and shapes you need to play any style of music on either 4 or 5 string banjo and will teach you everything you need to know about chords and how to use them. By the end of the book you will be able to play and understand chords in any style, and will be ready for any musical situation.
The book is divided into four sections. The first section deals with basic chord types such as major and minor, along with other three note chords (triads). The second section covers four note chords such as sevenths. The third section deals with extended and altered chords, and the final section contains some basic music theory as it applies to chords, along with chord progressions for you to practice. Each section contains examples demonstrating the chord types in a musical context. All chords are shown in open G tuning, which is the most common tuning for banjo. Chord shapes are shown on four strings. For 5 string banjo they are played without the high G drone, which is rarely fretted.

- Buying sheet music of your favorite recording artists and learning to play their songs. There is no substitute for playing real music.
