Using the Rest and Free Stroke Together

There are many pieces that require the use of the rest and free stroke. This situation often occurs when there is a melody on the 1st and 2nd strings played over an arpeggio pattern. The following examples use the rest stroke on the first string and free strokes on the 2nd and 3rd strings.
