INTRODUCTION

Lesson 2/31 | Study Time: 5 Min
Course: Country Guitar
INTRODUCTION

Progressive Country Guitar Technique is a continuation from Progressive Country Guitar Method . This book will cover more advanced chords, rhythms and lead techniques used in Country guitar. Experienced guitarists, who perhaps have not tackled this style before, will find this manual invaluable as a useful insight into the techniques of Country guitar.

This book deals with the two main classifications of Country guitar, rhythm and lead. You will become familiar with both subjects as you work your way through the book.

Rhythm guitar, being the technique of strumming chords, is explained clearly and simply throughout the book, with the help of an easy read system involving arrows. Lead guitar, being the picking of individual notes, is explained with the use of tablature, an easy read system for reading notes. Throughout the book there are many examples which use the various techniques detailed in each lesson.

For rhythm guitar playing the most common Bar chords and rhythms are introduced throughout the book. For Country lead guitar players the most common lead guitar patterns are introduced. The final lesson covers Fingerpicking and Slide guitar.

The best and fastest way to learn is to use these books in conjunction with:

  • Buying sheet music and song books of your favorite recording artists and learning to play their songs.
  • Practicing and playing with other musicians. You will be surprised how good a basic drums/bass/guitar combination can sound even when playing easy music.
  • Learning by listening to your favorite recordings.

Also in the early stages it is helpful to have the guidance of an experienced teacher. This will also help you keep to a schedule and obtain weekly goals.
