Sixteenth Notes

This is a sixteenth note.
It lasts for one quarter of a beat.
There are four sixteenth notes in one beat.
There are 16 sixteenth notes in one bar of * time.

This example shows the major pentatonic melodic pattern from the previous lesson played in sixteenth notes against an eighth note alternating bass part.

Don’t forget to practice your scales using sixteenth notes as well.

Here is a sixteenth note variation on the blue note 3rds idea.

This one contains a classic Country piano riff alternating between the flattened 3rd and the natural 3rd degree in the key of C.
