The D Minor Chord (Dm)

Type 1 Keyboards (e.g., Yamaha)

To play a Dm chord on this type of keyboard, press the D key shown on the diagram with the thumb of your left hand, together with the black key to its left, using your second finger.

Type 2 keyboards (e.g., Casio)

To play a Dm chord on this type of keyboard, press the D key as shown on the diagram with the second finger of your left hand, together with the white key to its right, using your thumb.

Fingered Dm Chord

The fingered Dm chord is the same for all types of keyboard. To play the Dm fingered chord, use the first, third and fifth fingers of your left hand.

When changing between the F and Dm fingered chords, keep your thumb on the F key, and your fifth finger on the A key.

When changing between the A and Dm fingered chords, keep your fifth finger on the A key. Keep your thumb on the F key when changing between the Dm and G7 fingered chords.
