Strum Pattern
Strum Pattern
In Lesson 3 you were introduced to two-bar strum patterns. The following two-bar strum pattern contains eighth note strums in the first bar (Strum Pattern Number Four), and half note strums in the second bar. Practice this new two-bar strum holding a C chord. When you are confident playing it, apply it to the song Shortnin’ Bread.
Bars 4 and 8 each contain two chords. Change to the second chord on the third beat of the bar. Also, in bars 4 and 8, to play the rest you must lightly touch the open third string with the second finger of your left hand, to stop it from sounding.
