Using The Ride Cymbal

In the following beat, the right hand part is played on the ride cymbal instead of the hihats. This can be done with any of the beats you have learned. Sometimes a drummer will switch between hi-hats and ride for different sections of a song. Each time you learn a new beat, try practicing it using first the hi-hats and then the ride.
