The D Major Scale
The D major scale The D major scale begins on the open D string and ends on the note D on the A string. The notes of the D major scale are D E F# G A B C# D. The D note at the top of the scale is one octave higher than the D note at the beginning of the scale. Play through the scale until you know it from memory.
This lively folk dance is written in the key of D major. The violin is widely used in European and American Folk music.
