Using the Whole Fretboard

Using the Whole Fretboard

Most things you have learned so far have been in the open position or the first position. However, if you want to become a good guitarist, it is important to be comfortable playing anywhere on the fretboard.

The easiest way to start becoming familiar with the positions further up the fretboard is to learn the notes on the 6th string and then play bar chords and power chords at all the different frets, naming each root note as you play.
