Slide Solo No.5 - The Turnaround

The second solo of this section demonstrates the use of the open position slide scale.

The hammer and the pull-off are used along with other basic techniques discussed earlier.

This solo will also preview a very popular lick called "The Turnaround". This lick is commonly used as an introduction to a blues song or as the ending of a blues progression.

The following exercises show three different variations of the turnaround. All examples can be played in any key by moving the entire lick to the necessary fret. The equivalent of each lick is also shown in the key of "A".
