The D Major Scale

The D Major Scale

The D major scale starts and ends on the note D, and contains the notes F# and C#. It is shown in the following example using the key signature of D major which is indicated by the two sharp symbols placed after the treble clef. Notice the use fo three different note values in this example (eighth notes, triplets and sixteenth notes. Be sure to play slowly enough at the start so that you don't stumble when you get to the sixteenth notes.)

The Note G Sharp (G#) or A Flat (Ab)

The same fingering can be used to play this G# or A b note in two different octaves. Here is an example which uses this note.
