Progressive Blues Guitar Solos features a variety of Blues Solos, incorporating all the styles and techniques used by the world’s greatest Blues players. All solos are written in tablature as well as standard notation. It will be necessary to have some basic knowledge of guitar before tackling the examples in this book. (See Progressive Blues Lead Guitar Method and Progressive Blues Lead Guitar Technique ). This book makes an excellent supplement to those two volumes.
This book also contains sections on call and response, dynamics, use of space and methods of creating and developing solos such as riffs, vocal style phrasing and solos using chords. It covers all the important scales and arpeggios used in Blues. The solos cover a variety of styles such as Shuffles, traditional slow Blues and Jazz style Blues, along with R&B and Funk grooves. Many of the solos are written in the styles of Blues legends like BB King, Albert King, Freddy King, Albert Collins, Buddy Guy, Otis Rush, Peter Green and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
To improve your skills even further it is recommended that you use a metronome or drum machine with all the examples in the book. If you are serious about music, a good teacher can often help you progress much quicker than you can on your own.
Keep practicing, keep playing and have fun.
