Playing Along One String

Don’t forget to learn your scales and arpeggios along each string as well as across the fretboard. Here are some licks and a Blues solo played along one string.

Practicing this technique will give you a whole new way of looking at the way you play, while at the same time improving your fretboard knowledge and giving you lots of new ideas. (For more on playing along one string, see Progressive Blues Lead Guitar Method ).
