The Eighth Note
This is an eighth note. It lasts for half a count. There are eight eighth notes in one bar of * time. When eighth notes are joined together the tails are replaced by one beam.
Before playing this song, count out loud and clap the rhythm as you read the notes. Then play the song and count to yourself as you play.
This duet uses a technique called imitation. Be careful not to lose your timing when your teacher’s part starts imitating your part.
