In the previous example you learned how to play an E note in the middle register by changing your lip position. You can create many other notes by using this same technique. The following song uses the note F in the middle register.
As with the E note, place your fingers in position to play an F note and then bring the sides of your lips in slightly to a whistling position. Blowing in this position will produce an F note in the middle register. This F note is written on the fifth line of the treble staff. Practice alternating between the low F and the higher F until you can do it easily.
The next song contains first and second endings. The first time you go through the song, play the first ending ( Z ), then go back to the beginning. The second time you go through the song, play the second ending ( X ) instead of the first.
