The Solid Body Electric Guitar

The Solid Body Electric Guitar

The solid body electric is commonly used in Metal, Rock, Blues and Pop Music. Famous solid body guitars are the gibson les paul and the fender stratocaster. Electric guitars have pick-ups (a type of inbuilt microphone) and need to be played through an amplifier (amp) to be heard.

Solid body electric guitars are available in a variety of shapes, sizes and colours. They can be made from a large range of different timbers and use many string and pick-up configurations. They vary significantly in cost but most beginning solid body electric guitars are relatively inexpensive and are quite suitable for the early stages of electric guitar playing.
