Rock Beats
A drum beat (or drum groove) is a repeating pattern of interconnecting parts which can be played throughout a song. Once you are comfortable playing the previous examples, you are ready to play a basic Rock beat. The following example shows the simplest form of a Rock beat.
It has been used in literally thousands of songs, so it is important to be able to play it well from memory. If you are playing with other musicians and are unsure what to play for a Rock song, you can always fall back on this beat and be sure it will sound good.
