The Release Bend

The Release Bend

The release bend is a popular variation of the bend. This time a string is bent first, before being plucked. After the note has been sounded, the string is returned to its normal position. This will cause a drop in pitch.

The release bend is indicated by a curved line on the left side of the tablaturc number and the symbol 44R,f. Try the following example:

The examples below are played within lead guitar pattern one in the key of A. Both the normal bend and the release bend are featured.
