The Eighth Note

The Eighth Note

When eighth notes are joined together, the tails are replaced by one beam.

This is an eighth note. It lasts for half a count. There are eight eighth notes in one bar of * time.

Tap your foot on each beat (the number count) but not on the eighth notes in between the beats.

Here are two songs which contain eighth notes. Listen to the recording and clap and count the rhythms along with it.
