INTRODUCTION

Lesson 2/30 | Study Time: 5 Min
INTRODUCTION

The blues harmonica is an easy instrument for beginners to enjoy, as many of the physical techniques used in playing are those that you already practice every day, when breathing and talking. It is an easy instrument to play at an intermediate level, since simple blues, rock, and boogie woogie songs can be learned within a few days or weeks. But it is a difficult instrument to master, because so many of the more subtle and advanced techniques take place out of sight, inside the mouth and throat, and can require a lifetime of study. Therefore, serious students will want to use the companion books and recordings, Progressive Blues Harmonica Licks Volumes One and Two, while using the Progressive Blues Harmonica Method (see page 104), as they provide greater detail on many techniques.
