These verses are largely built from the riffs, above. The earlier ones will show how Blues Scale riffs can be combined into verses. The later ones require much bending, and are quite advanced, so the intermediate player should not feel at all discouraged if they seem too difficult to play. With time and practice, the bending techniques will come.
This verse is based on a version of the Blues Scale, played without bent notes.
This verse utilizes the rhythm of Riff 5, varying the notes to fit the different chords.
This verse combines the use of Riffs 7, 8, and 3, and adds a turnaround to the last line. Note the use of both hard and soft bend effects on the 2i bends.
Application of the rhythmic pattern described below will make the entire verse more dynamic.
For variety, you may wish to play this version of the previous verse, which substitutes Riff 12 for Riff 7, then combines Riff 12 and Riff 7 with a 1i for a turnaround.
