A popular effect to incorporate into a bass note rhythm pattern is the insertion of a bass note run. This is a series of bass notes that connects between two different chords. The following exercise uses a bass note run between the G and C chords. The rhythm pattern and the bass notes are notated on the tablature lines for ease of reading.
Now try using a bass note run from the C to the G chord.
The next examples show bass note runs between G and D type chords.
