Basic rudiments are an essential part of playing the drums, unfortunately most books only apply these to the snare drum. "All Around The Drums" was written with the aim of utilizing the Tom Toms as well as the Snare drum.
Mter playing through this book, you should have a good understanding of the flexabilty of Triplets and Paradiddles. Many other rudiments and excersizes also sound great when applied to the whole drum kit, instead of just the snare.
I hope you have found the patterns in this book easy to follow and helpful in developing your style and technique as a modem drummer.
For many more patterns and solos, see "Introducing Beats Fills and Solos jar Drums" by Steve Shier.

Please note that it is important to keep your drum kit in tune and sounding great. For correct tuning methods, see "How To Tune The Drums" also by Steve Shier.
