The final section in this book will introduce acoustic slide guitar. The solos which follow are in different tunings and each solo uses a different bass line. As the right hand thumb plays the bass line, the fingers will play the familiar slide licks on the treble strings. The first acoustic slide solo uses some relatively simple licks on the treble strings as the right hand thumb plays the root bass note on every beat of the bar.
The second acoustic slide guitar lick uses an alternating bass line between the sixth and fourth strings. The solo is in open E/D tuning and the melody is based upon the country scale.
The final solo in this section is in open G/A tuning and uses a shuffle bass. Once again the licks played on the treble strings are common licks which have been used earlier in the open G/A tuning section. This time the right hand thumb will play eighth notes for the bass line. Listen to the accompanying cassette in order to achieve the right "feel" for this solo.
