Using Finger Picks

Most accomplished banjo players use a thumb pick and finger picks on the i and m fingers, as shown in the following photos. It may take a bit of time to become comfortable using finger picks but they are essential for projecting the sound of the banjo.

Here are some picking exercises to help you become comfortable using finger picks. Play each one slowly and clearly many times before increasing the tempo.
