Continuing up the guitar fretboard, the next fingering of the pentatonic scale is the C form. Here it is.
The root notes in the C form of the scale are on the 5th and 2nd strings as they are in any C shape chord.
An important thing about playing in the different forms is that sometimes you have to bend notes upwards (on the first 3 strings) and sometimes downwards (the lower 3 strings). Here is an example of bending D up to E on the 4th string in the C form. Remember to use two fingers to bend and pull downwards towards the floor. .
Here is another exercise in the C form combining 3rd and 4th string bends. The 3rd string is bent up and the 4th string is bent down.
Here is another bending exercise, this time on the 2nd string. The first bend is up a whole tone (2 frets), while the second bend is only half a tone (1 fret).
