In the next piece both hands shift between the D position and the C position. Try this example with an organ voice. Notice how the organ’s tone quality (called "timbre") differs to that of a piano voice. Each instrument and human voice has its own particular timbre. Certain parts can sound great when played by one instrument, but terrible when the wrong one is used. If you have access to an electronic keyboard, experiment with the different instrumental voices. Try using these voices on the other examples in the book.
This example uses the chords Am, Dm and Em. The final bar contains two new low A notes, one played by each hand.
