Half Time Feel

Half Time Feel

In the following examples quarter note rests occur on the 2nd and 4th beats of each bar. This helps to give a broken up feel sometimes referred to as a half time feel. Examples 16 to 21 are based on the same chord progression which is commonly used in country music.

Example 16 employs the half time feel utilizing root notes only, whereas example 17 alternates between the root note and the 5th note within each chord. Both examples are in the key of C.

Example 18 is in the Key of Bb.
