Lead-in
The examples below involve the use of lead-in (or pick-up) notes that are played before the first full bar of the music. Example 38 begins on the 2nd beat and utilizes the half time feel in the key of C.
Example 39 begins on the 4th beat and features the dotted half note rhythm in the key of F.
Example 40 is in the key of B and combines quarter notes, half notes and the dotted half note.
Example 41 utilises the arpeggio playing style throughout.
