In lesson one a 12 bar riff was introduced. It involved the use of a basic shape, starting on the A, D or E note, matching the respective chords of the 12 bar chord progression. The 12 Bar Blues riff style can also involve more than one basic riff. In the next example, riff number 2 is used throughout the progression, except for the last bar. This last bar makes use of a very common ending for Blues riffs.
