In Lesson 5, you learnt to play the G7 chord using the B, F and G notes. Here is a different way of playing G7 which uses the D, F and G notes. To play this new G7 chord shape, use the first, second and fourth fingers of your left hand.
The next song, The Galway Piper , uses the new G7 chord shape played as a broken chord.
To play bars 9 and 10 smoothly, you will need to move your 2nd finger over your thumb as indicated by the fingering numbers. This is called a crossover, which is discussed in more detail on page 50.
