The cut time bass line is a variation on the alternating thumb style bass line. The basic difference is the use of an optional bass note on the third beat of the bar.
Example 15 is based upon the previous example except the third beat bass note changes to the low G note on the sixth string. The third finger of the fretting hand moves between the two bass strings every two beats. Playing the low G note on the C chord is often notated as the C/G chord.
