The Quarter Note Triplet

The Quarter Note Triplet

There are six quarter note triplets in one bar of * time. If we follow the triplet rule (page 24 paragraph 1) then three quarter note triplets are played in the same time as two quarter notes. Quarter note triplets are written thus:

Bass Part - This bass line introduces the quarter note triplet in the second bar.

Drum Part - The bass drum in this example follows the quarter note triplets played in the bass line.
