An introductory fill is a fill used to introduce a song or section of music.

Drum Part - This example uses an 'introductory fill'. It also uses a 'flam' (see Progressive Drum Method) and has the suggested sticking written above it. A flam consists of a grace note () which is tied to a principle note (3). The grace note is played fractionally before the principle note. (Listen to the recording).
