Sixteenth Note Grooves

Lesson 4/24 | Study Time: 5 Min
Course: Rock Bass Licks
Sixteenth Note Grooves

Sixteenth Note Grooves

The following examples incorporate sixteenth notes (a total of four notes per beat). See Progressive Rock Bass for a more detailed explanation of sixteenth notes. These examples will prove to be more challenging than the previous ones. Listen carefully to the recording to get the right feel and timing.

The following example introduces a pull-off, indicated by a curved line and the letters PO. The first note is played but the second note is produced by pulling off the finger which is playing the first note (see Progressive Rock Bass).
