The following two examples combine sixteenth note syncopations and triplets. Listen carefully to the recording to get the right timing for these grooves.
The ghost note (X) is introduced in the next example. This is a note which has no distinguishable pitch, normally achieved by muting a string with your left hand while playing it.
Lick 74 and 75 use short attacks on some notes, indicated by a dot. These notes should be stopped immediately after playing. This technique is called staccato playing.
