Movable Fingerings

Because the whole tone scale is a symmetrical scale which does not follow major or minor chord shapes, it does not follow the five forms like previous scales. Here are two useful movable fingerings of the whole tone scale.

Here is a lick derived from the C whole tone scale. As you can hear, it’s a colorful sound. Experiment with this scale and create some of your own licks.
