D Major Chord

Lesson 2/58 | Study Time: 5 Min
Course: Ukulele
D Major Chord

D Major Chord

D

To play the D chord, place the first, second and third fingers of your left hand as shown in the diagram, and strum all four strings.

When learning new chords, try to memorize the shape and visualize it before placing your fingers on the fretboard. When changing chords, hold down the current chord but visualize the next chord you are about to change to. This will solidify all the chords in your memory and will make chord changes easier.

Rhythm Pattern

In this chord progression there are two chords in each bar. Each chord lasts for two beats. The rhythm pattern has two half note strums, so each chord is strummed once.
