Common 16th Note Rhythms

Lesson 4/59 | Study Time: 5 Min
Common 16th Note Rhythms

Common 16th Note Rhythms

Sixteenth notes are commonly used within a beat in conjunction with eighth notes. The following examples demonstrate two common rhythm figures.

Here is a lick which makes use of the two rhythms you have just learned.

Now try several licks joined together to form a solo. Notice the extensive use of hammer- on's and pull-off#s- This solo is played over a chord progression in the key of A minor which means it is built around an A minor chord. All the notes of the solo come from the A minor pentatonic scale.
