Minor Chords

Minor Chords

Open minor chords are not very common in Blues but it is worth knowing them, as the bar chord shapes derived from them are used quite often. Here are three basic minor chord shapes. As with all previous chords, memorise each shape and then practice changing between them.

In minor keys chords I and IV are usually minor. Chord V is sometimes minor and sometimes a 7th, as in this exercise in the key of E minor.
