Once you have familiarized yourself with the notes on the chromatic harmonica by playing the C major scale, the best way to become comfortable with the instrument is to play songs. Over the next few pages you will learn some melodies which sound great on the chromatic harmonica. The first is the traditional Irish song Londonderry Air. All the notes come from the C major scale, and it covers a range of less than two octaves, so it is not difficult to play. Play it slowly and make sure you are producing a strong, even tone.
