Bits and Pieces

Bits and Pieces

Bits and Pieces is a different sounding solo to the other pieces in this book as it does not fit into any particular category of music like Blues or Ragtime etc. This type of piece would simply be referred to as a contemporary fingerpicking solo.

Consisting of five sections, Bits and Pieces employs a variety of rhythmic and dynamic changes to produce an interesting sounding solo. It will be necessary to listen carefully to the accompanying recording to get the right feel for this one.

This solo is also played in dropped D tuning, the sixth string(E) is detuned a tone to the note D. The following two diagrams illustrate the open string notes for standard tuning and dropped D tuning.
