Bar Lines

Bar Lines

Music is divided into bars, or measures, by barlines. In the following song there are two bars of music. Each bar contains four quarter notes.

You can play this song by playing a note on your instrument or simply by clapping your hands as you read the notes.

It is very important to count out loud as you play each exercise. This will help you to keep your timing even.

Write down four bars of music with a treble staff. First draw in the bar lines and the final bar line at the end, and then write four quarter notes in each bar. Use any notes you like and remember which direction the stems should go.
