Minor Pentatonic Scale Forms

All of the licks in this section are played using the following five forms of the minor pentatonic scale (shown below in the key of C), which is the most common scale used in Blues. Sometimes these fingerings are referred to as patterns one to five. Pattern one is equivalent to the E form, Pattern two is equivalent to the D form, Pattern three is equivalent to the C form, Pattern four is equivalent to the A form, and Pattern five is equivalent to the G form.
