Apart from using the movable scale forms, many Blues licks make use of the open position Blues scale in the key of E. Examples 25 and 26 make use of this pattern.
This one features two E notes played simultaneously at the end of the lick. This is achieved by striking the first two strings with the pick and sliding the third finger of the left hand from the 3rd fret of the second string (a D note) up to the 5th fret (an E note) while the open first string is ringing.
