Playing notes: Be sure to sharpen all F notes, as indicated by the key signature. In bar 4 the first and second fingers "slide" down two frets between the O-B and C-A notes. To achieve this slide you should release pressure on the left hand fingers, but do not remove them from the strings.
Remember that a number in a circle (bar 3) indicates a string number, not a fingering.
Playing notes: In bar 10 the G note is played on the fourth string at the 5th fret, as indicated by $ Always remember that a number in a circle refers to a string number and not to fingering.
In bar 12 the slide technique, as introduced in study 32, is used.
Playing notes: Be sure to give full value to the whole notes by leaving the left hand fingers on the strings until the end of each bar. Carefully observe the "accidentals" (sharps, flats and naturals) used extensively in the bass line and follow the fingerings where marked.
