Like music written in major keys, anything in a minor key can be transposed to other keys. The following example shows the progression from example 53 transposed to the key of E minor. Once you have learned the progression in this key, write out the scale tone chords in the remaining eleven minor keys and transpose the progression to those keys as well.
Transposing may seem a bit tedious at first, but it is an essential skill to develop. Any song can be played in any key, and different musicians may choose different keys for the same song. Usually a song will be played in a key that is comfortable for the singer and the musicians have to be able to play it in whatever key that is without wasting too much time working out the chords. The better you are at transposing, the more people you will be able to play with.
